How Do You Apply Your Foundation?

Hi friends!

So, I’m just curious, do you have a favourite way to apply your foundation? Do you use a specific brush, a beauty blender, or do you just use your fingers? What gives you the perfect look that you’re going for?

I have 3 ways I go between, so I thought I would share!

The first thing I like using is a beauty blender! This is just a random one I picked up, I don’t know the brand but I think it was about $5.

Also, side note, sorry that the tools are so dirty in the pictures. I have used them all recently and they need a clean!

I love th  almost airbrushed look that a beauty blender gives. It doesn’t leave any lines or creases, and the pointed tip makes it easy to apply makeup around my nose piercings.

The Real Techniques Stippling Brush is pretty much my go to for foundation! I use it almost on a daily basis. I use it to dab my foundation all over my face, and then I go over in circular motions to get rid of lines.

I would definitely recommend this one!

This guy is a new one for me! It’s the Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection Foundation Brush. I saw this in the drugstore and just had to spend the $32.99 to have it! I haven’t been able to find any of this collection here in Canada before (not in my small town anyway) so I saw this and jumped for joy!

That being said, I do still prefer the stippling brush to this one, although this one does get the coverage I want, but I find that it leaves a lot of creases on my face I have to buff out.

There ya go folks! That’s pretty much it, just thought I’d share.

What’s your favourite technique / top to apply your foundation? And what’s your favourite foundation? While I’m asking questions I figured I’d throw that one out there too!

Hope you’re all having a great day x

  1. I use the expert face brush by real techniques and then a damp beauty blender to pick up some extra foundation! Great post 🙂

  2. I use the real techniques complexion sponge and I adore it! They do get dirty so so fast though. Do you have any tips on how to clean a beauty blender? I also love using a random brand of brushes I found on Amazon and they’re absolutely amazing. I just type in makeup brushes and there was a pack of 10 for about £6! X
