REVIEW: CoverGirl Peacock Flare Mascara

Hey all! So the other day I saw an ad on TV for the CoverGirl Peacock Flare Mascara, and let me tell ya; subliminal messaging is a real thing, because as soon as I saw that I knew I needed to give this mascara a try. So the next day it was off to my local drugstore to pick this baby up, and of course now I need to share with you all what I think!

First off, LOVE the packaging. The electic blue with the black is so classy and high fashion, and definitely reminds me of a peacock and its feathers.

The brush, I’m on the fence about. I know the bristles are kind of staggered and fanned out that way to give you that “peacock flare”, but I just don’t know about it. I find it hard to get in to the corner of my eyelids and pick up all the tiny lashes hiding there. It’s also kind of a bitch for the bottom lashes. But maybe that’s just me.

Next; consistency and formula. Meh. That’s really all I have to say. Meh. There’s nothing wrong with it, necessarily, but that means that there is also nothing seriously right about it, if you know what I’m saying. I find it a little clumpy and hard to apply, but once you get going I do like the spaced out affect it gives my lashes. I started out with applying two coats my first few uses, but after that I found myself applying three, four, coats, and still not getting that full “Flare” affect that I was hoping for.

It’s a fine mascara, really. But there are so many other better drugstore mascaras out there, so I don’t know that I would purchase this again. I wouldn’t rule it out, but wouldn’t guarantee it.

Wow, I’m suuuuuper decisive, huh?

Have you tried this?

Peace x

  1. I am never happy with any of my mascara, either they are too clumpy or don’t dry easy! I have stopped applying them but looking at this I might buy it just by its packaging
