You know those days when you just need a little time to yourself? When you don’t want to be bothered by anyone or anything; you just want to hang out and be alone to sift through your own thoughts and feelings? Well welcome to my Sunday.
I work Tuesday-Saturday so by the time Sundays roll around I am ready for a break and a breather. And today I thought I would just spend the day on my own rather than to go see friends and family. I wanted to run a few errands, browse in some shops, do a little pampering, and do some major cleaning/ tidying up of my apartment. WHICH REMINDS ME. I still haven’t done an apartment tour post. Damnit. Soon, I promise.
This morning started off bright and early. I woke up at 5:30 and I couldn’t fall back asleep, no matter how much I tried. So. Instead I spent the time catching up on some vlogs on Youtube. Now, honestly, I’m not a big YouTube person. I used to spend a lot of time on it, but now the only person I really watch is Gabriella Lindley, aka velvetgh0st. I just find her so real and authentic, and I think our personalities are really similar. I love how honest she is.
Then I decided to do a little pampering. I washed my face and then decided to apply a GlamGlow mask.
I got a little sampler bottle of GlamGlow Super Mud Mask from Sephora as my free birthday gift (my birthday was about three weeks ago). It also came with a little bottle of tinted moisturizer.
I love this mask because it really goes deep and gets out all the gunk in my pores. And as I have said before, I have the BIGGEST pores in the whole dang world. Especially on my nose. So gross. But what can ya do.
After my mask, I plucked my eyebrows- something I haven’t done in literally like a month, and I have the thickest wildest brows around. I can’t believe I let them get that bad. And then I took my time applying my makeup, watching flogs, and deciding what to wear. I LOVE when I get a little dressier than normal just to run errands, or go for a little wander. I mean I’m not talking about wearing a ballgown or anything, but it’s nice to look nice.
On my face: GlamGlow Glowstarter: Mega Illuminating Moisturizer, L’Oreal Paris True Match Touche Magic Concealer, Anastasia Beverly Hills brow pomeade, MAC’s Woodwinked eyeshadow, my favourite bronzer from The Body Shop (I’ve had this for ages and the name has worn off the bottom so I don’t know what it’s actually called or what shade it is…), and then Maybelline Great Lash Mascara.
Anyone who knows me knows that I basically live in leggings, but I recently purchaed these ripped jeans from American Eagle and they are SO comfy and go with basically everything. And it just wouldn’t be fall without a leather jacket and a big comfy scarf.
After I was ready I headed off to Starbucks for a coffee (A Skinny Vanilla Latte was calling my name) and then I headed to my favourite store, Winners. I’m not sure if Winners is just a Canadian store, but I think it’s pretty similar to TK Max or TJ Max, or like a Marshall’s or something. The place has EVERYTHING. Clothes, beauty, purses, homegoods, you name it- they probably have it. And it’s like a discount store, so you can find some great things for cheaper than what they would normally retail for. It’s a dangerous place, and I honestly don’t think I have ever walked out of a Winners empty handed.
Aaaand this time was no different. I did naaaat leave empty handed. But I only got a few things!
I got a plain little black cropped tee, I haven’t taken a picture of it because I think I’m going to wear it tomorrow! I’ll probably be making a post on my day tomorrow because I have a jam-packed day filled with lots of fun things, so stay tuned.
Then I just got a new beauty sponge because mine is SERIOUSLY gnarly and needed replacing badly.
Remember yesterday in my What’s In My Bag post when I said that I had a problem with buying purses…?
DON’T JUDGE ME. As soon as I saw this Guess bag I had to have it! It’s so cute and I am obsessed with the chain handle. It’s a good size; not as big as most of my bags, but a bit bigger than all my little evening bags. I love it. And I thought I would buy myself a little belated birthday gift since my actual birthday itself was pretty crap.
Then after I felt like I had spent enough money I came home and climbed back into my sweats which I think I will remain in for the rest of the daaayyyy. I have taken my makeup off and put my hair up and have cleaned my entired apartment. I have scrubbed the bathroom and the kitchen, tidied my room, swept and vacuumed the floors, washed all the windows and mirrors, and even sorted through my purses to try and downsize my collection (it didn’t really work…). Now I’m just relaxing watching Fried Green Tomatoes, and later I might tackle my closet to try and get rid of some clothes I don’t wear anymore. I just feel like I can think and breathe so much better when my house is more organized, ya know?
I hope you all had a beautiful Sunday!
