REVIEW: ALMAY Clear Complexion Makeup

Hey everyone!

Got a little review for you today. I ran out of foundation a few weeks back, and I went to a drugstore I don’t usually go to. Everything seemed so pricy and so I didn’t pick any of the foundations I normally go for- I instead opted to try the ALMAY Clear Complexion Makeup– mostly because it was on sale.

I’ve been using it for a few weeks now, so I thought I would share what I think with you all!

Also, sorry the photo is kind of shitty… I tried from so many different angles, and just couldn’t get a good clear picture. Oh well. Here we go.

I like the formula of this foundation a lot. It’s a good consistency- not too watery like some foundations can be, and it goes on relatively smooth and even. It doesn’t feel heavy or cakey or your face at all. The label boasts that it is “maximum strength salicylic acid acne treatment”. My skin has been all over the place lately and I’ve been having breakouts constantly. I haven’t changed my skinscare, my brushes are all washed regularly, so I don’t really know whaaaat is going on. Anyway. I wouldn’t say that I’ve noticed a drastic improvement in my skin since I started using this foundation. I mean, it has gotten better, but I don’t know if that is from the foundation, or just from the acne getting better over time. But it definitely hasn’t gotten worse, which is a good thing!

I got the foundation in the shade 100 Ivory, which is pretty on par match with my skin tone. I am quite pale and pasty- especially in Fall/ Winter time so this colour works just fine for me.

I wouldn’t say it gives great coverage. I definitely have to put on a few coats, especially in the problem areas on my face, and even then you can still see some acne showing through. But I don’t want to just go crazy layering it on because I don’t want it to be super noticedable that my face is caked in makeup- ya know?

So my verdict? I like it. I’ll use it. I probably wouldn’t buy it again though. I like the formula, the consistency, and the colour is a good match, but I could go for  a bit more coverage.

Have you tried this? What did you think?

Peace x

  1. Absolutely! For drugstore, I found Maybelline matte and poreless foundation…it was my go to for like 5 years and a couple years back, I purchased the Too Faced Born This Way foundation and it turned into my holy grail foundation. I did a review on it a couple days back on my blog
