Hey Beautiful People!
So a few months ago I decided to go to the eye doctor to get my eyes tested because I hadn’t been for a few years. I’ve worn glasses since about the fourth grade, but I figured I had better check in to make sure things were all as they should be.
WELL. It turned out that they kind of weren’t. APPARENTLY I have a lazy eye that has somehow been missed my whole life! It isn’t visible- like you can’t look at me and tell, but something going on inside my eyes causes my left eye to not work properly and essentially be “lazy”. Apparently I was most likely born with this, so how it has gone unnoticed for 26 years, I have no idea.
So yeah, that was a bit of a shock! My eyesight had generally gotten a bit worse as well- probably due to the fact that a huge part of my job includes sitting and staring at a computer scfreen all day. And apparently I have no depth perception. Like literally none. Which I kind of figured. I mean I knew I had bad depth perception, but I didn’t know it was non-existant.
So yeah… Here I am, a 26 year old woman with a recently diagnosed lazy eye… cool… Things could be worse though. And this meant that I got to get new glasses, which is literally one of my favourite things to shop for! I have contacts that I often wear, but glasses are just so fun and I would never give them up completely! A good bold pair of glasses can make any outfit. And I usually try and go for a nice big, bold frame.
So these were my old glasses that I had for like 3 years. I did love these glasses! But it was definitely time for a change.
And theeeese are ma new glasses! I love how big the frames are! The frames around the lenses are clear, and the sides are gold which I love! Definitely not as thick as my old pair, but still a nice bold statement! I wear SO much black on a daily basis that I wanted to get a lighter frame to balance things out a bit.
But do they actually work? Can I actually see better now? Well let me tell ya… I certainly can! I honestly had no idea that the world was supposed to be quite as clear and focused and sharp as I now realize it is! This is crazy. I had no idea I was missing so much!
So that’s what’s new and exciting for me! Do any of you wear glasses? Do you go for a bold frame as well, or do you prefer something simple?
